Color in Action Workshop:

Quick Watercolor Portraits

Bring portraiture to life in this one-off, 2-hour workshop. Together we’ll explore how shadows, essential features, and loose brushwork can be used to create quick, expressive watercolor portraits.

  • What is it?

    — One live 2-hour session online

    — Hands-on practice painting multiple quick watercolor portraits

    — A chance to practice forming the face through its major shadow shapes

    — Exercise in loose brushwork and summarizing what you see

    — Guidance determining which features are essential and which can be sacrificed

    — Participant price: $50

  • When is it?

    Sunday, December 6th, 10am-12pm EST

  • What if I can't make it live?

The session will be recorded and shared afterward, but I encourage you to join live so you can ask questions and be part of the conversation as we work.

  • Do I need special supplies?

Nope! Just the same materials you used in class or whatever you normally use for watercolor will be fine.
